Needle size indicates the diameter of the needle blade shortly above the scarf or the short groove. According to the metric system (Nm) the unit of the needle size figure is denoted in hundredths of a millimeter and it is shown on the shank of the needle. Besides the metric system there are some other (numbering) systems, which also indicate the needle size.
